Radiata Pine special
These Timberskins are surprising. An acquaintance maintains a large acreage property at the base of the range outside of Mossman in FNQ. On this property there are a few acres of pines that were planted many years ago. So, last wet season up here, we had quite a bit of rain followed by a few high wind events and some of these pines came down in one of those events. Our friend offered a few logs to us, and initially we had doubts as to how we could use these. We ended up slabbing them, and one had this pattern of spots/eyes through it, so we made coolers out of it. They are fantastic. As a carpenter for several decades, I have not seen this grain figure in pine before. There are only a few dozen of these in total and we don’t expect to see this figure again.
